Here is a piece of Ikmoa History! It is marked 0974, I asked Flavio about this, here's what he had to say:
This is its serial number, at that time I marked all the knives I made in sequence, not by the model.
It was made in early 2001 out of 440C, which was the best that I could put my hands on at that time.
-F.Ikoma
Just to clarify, this is knife #974, at least since he started keeping track. This is also the last entry in his leadger from that period, indicating that this is the last of it's kind.
9" x .240" 440C Blade, Mirror polished and still hair-shaving sharp.
14" OAL
Handle consists of Stag and Brazilian Rosewood with Black/Red/SS spacers.
Stainless Steel Buttcap and Guard. Buttcap is carved to match the Stag, a very nice touch.
Weight is 18.6 oz. Balance point is at the finger choil.
Flavio also made a very nice Leather Belt Sheath with Basket Weave pattern. (I'll try to get photos of this added.)
